Advocates for Basic Legal Equality, Inc. (ABLE)

ABLE was founded in 1969 by a group of Toledo attorneys and community leaders. Its mission is to provide free, high-quality legal services in civil matters to low-income individuals, families, and groups to help them achieve equal opportunity, equality, and self-reliance within the community. In addition to serving individuals, ABLE remains dedicated to its original purpose of legal advocacy to promote systemic change that benefits large groups of low-income people. ABLE serves 32 counties in western Ohio from offices in Dayton, Defiance and Toledo.

Legal Aid of Western Ohio, Inc. (LAWO)

LAWO is a non-profit law firm that provides free, high-quality legal services in civil matters to low-income individuals, families, and groups to help them achieve equal opportunity, equality, and self-reliance within the community. Serving 32 counties in western Ohio, from offices in Dayton, Defiance, Fremont, Lima, Sandusky, Springfield, and Toledo, LAWO provides a full range of legal services, including negotiation, litigation, and community education. Special projects serve domestic violence victims, senior citizens, and migrant farmworkers.

Toledo Bar Association (TBA) Pro Bono Legal Services Program

The Pro Bono Legal Services Program provides legal services and assistance to low income residents of Lucas County who are not eligible for other legal service programs. Pro Bono is a program operated through the Toledo Bar Association in which private attorneys volunteer to provide legal services and assistance with certain legal problems.
